The requirements for dental school are very high and your academic achievements are very important. You will be expected to have completed your bachelor’s degree; although it does not have to be a science degree there are many science prerequisite courses that you have to have completed prior to joining the dental school. Dentals schools in Minnesota accepted students in previous years with an average GPA of a little over 3.6.

You will also have to have taken the Dental Admission Test of DAT; the average overall score for accepted students is almost 20 compared to the national average of around 17. The reading comprehension portion of the DAT test showed an average score of just short of 21 for those students that were accepted.

You also must provide three letters of recommendation, two which are from science faculty members and the third from an employer.
