The newest dental school Florida is LECOM School of Dental Medicine which only opened its doors to 100 students in 2012. Then there is the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University.

As with most other dental schools around the country it is advisable to have already gained your bachelors degree as well as ensuring that you have studies science subjects such as chemistry and biology as part of a 4 year college or university course.

You will be expected to have taken the Dental Admission Test or DAT. You can take this test only three times and the dental schools in Florida will take your highest results. The average test results of successful candidates is over 19 which is above the national average.
